MyTimetable
MyTimetable is a front-end for timetabling solutions such as Scientia Syllabus Plus. Up-to-date schedules are shown in a graphical user interface, in which every user has its personal user profile. Schedules can be exported to printable PDF documents, but can also be used as an iCal feed for Google Calendar, Outlook or a mobile phone.
MyTimetable is open source, so all source code is available to our customers. Developing new functionality or adapting the application to a specific situation of an educational institution is done on project basis.
Features
MyTimetable offers an extensive list of features. The most important features are showcased below. MyTimetable can be adapted or extended, so a perfect fit to the situation of a specific educational institution is always available. For more information, please contact us.
Personal profile
All users have a personal profile with preferences, reflecting their personal situation. Courses and modules can be individually switched on and off for an optimal view of the schedule.
Views
A personal schedule can be viewed in a graphical week view, and a tabular month view.
Adding courses
Next to programs of study, individual courses, student schedules and group schedules can be added to the personal profile.
Exporting schedules
Schedules can be exported to printable PDF documents, but can also be used as an iCal document for Google Calendar, Outlook or a mobile phone.
Users can also subscribe to an iCal feed, so changes in schedules are pushed automatically to the user's calendar.
Filtering
Users can filter certain activities, for example tutorials or lectures they don't attend. It is also possible to filter certain activity types, for example exams or lab courses. This way, a tailor fit schedule can be created by a user.
Seamless integration
MyTimetable can be integrated with external systems. For example, it is possible to link to a digital course portfolio or a course registration system. External systems can link directly to the schedule of a course, module or program of study.
A web service is available to provide MyTimetable data or Syllabus Plus data to other applications.
Multilingual
MyTimetable is completely multilingual, with out of the box support for both English and Dutch.
Support for Blackboard
It is possible to integrate MyTimetable into BLackboard. Also, a Blackboard building block is available which shows the next five activities to the user.
Location view
With the location view, it is possible to add buildings and individual locations to the personal profile, useful for, for example, porters. There are two list views available: a day view sorted on time, and a day view sorted on location. Also, exporting the location schedule to PDF is possible.
Technical features
At a technical level, MyTimetable offers the following functionality:
- Integration in Blackboard, with support for Blackboard authentication and Blackboard datastore;
- Stand-alone usage with a specific datastore (database);
- Guest authentication;
- LDAP authentication;
- Support for Syllabus Plus Data Adapter (SPDA) database and Syllabus Plus Enterprise Reporting Database;
