Sharepoint development
Microsoft Sharepoint is a widely used online platform, mostly used as a portal for students and employees. Sharepoint facilitates collaboration and document manangement, but can also serve as a learning management system (LMS), for example by using Elearningforce Sharepoint LMS or Competentum ShareKnowledge.
Due to the central role of Sharepoint as a portal, integration of other information systems into Sharepoint is often desirable to give the end users a good user experience with the portal.
Web parts
Sharepoint can be extended with separate modules called web parts. Using building blocks, Sharepoint can be enriched with new functionality, or existing functionality can be reused. It is also possible to automate certain tasks or to integrate external systems into Sharepoint. Possible building blocks to extend Sharepoint are, for example:
- reporting on the progress of students
- integration of OSIRIS or other student information systems (SIS)
- subscribing for exams or lab courses
- ordering and payment of course readers
- integration of digital course catalog or automatically creating courses based on this data
- integration of eLearning initiatives, such as video recordings of classes
Custom developed web parts
Eveoh develops custom web parts, often integrated with external information systems. We have experience with both Sharepoint 2007 and Sharepoint 2010.
Back-end integration
Eveoh also develops tools that automate certain tasks in Sharepoint, mostly based on data or actions from other information systems. Such tools could, for example, create sites in Sharepoint based on a digital course catalog, including setting of permissions, creating workflows, et cetera.
